Egypt launches 4 missiles towards the Mediterranean

(MENAFN) The spokesman of the Egyptian armed forces reported the firing of 4 missiles during these maritime maneuvers currently taking place in the Mediterranean.

Colonel Tamer al-Rifai, spokesman for the Egyptian armed forces said that "The maritime exercises are currently taking place in the Mediterranean and 4 missiles have been fired."

"These maneuvers take place in our territorial waters to strengthen our availability against any threat," said Colonel Tamer Rifai.

Earlier, Major-General Samir Farag, former director of psychic affairs of the Egyptian army, had announced: "These maneuvers are indeed an indirect message to Turkey and other countries that would intend to to approach Egyptian territorial waters in the Mediterranean."

"After the renovation of its army, Egypt has become stronger Turkey and is currently able to defend itself," he said.
