Save the Children: compact areas a threat for children
(MENAFN) The number of children living in compact districts under the threat of death and aggression is increasing, with Syria, Afghanistan and Somalia considered as the most brutal countries for children, according to the charity Save the Children.
The Global charity reported one in six children in the world, an estimate of over 357m, to be living in compact areas, a rise of 75 percent within 28 years.
The risks that are facing children in those conflict zones include kidnapping and sexual assault.
UN-verified cases of murdered and wounded children were confirmed to have increased by almost 300 percent since 2010.
