FIFA World Cup to arrive to Jordan


(MENAFN) As part of a global tour organized by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), on February 19, 2018, the FIFA World Cup Trophy will arrive to Jordan,which will give Jordanian football fans the chance to see the most coveted-football prize in person for the first time.

The Greater Amman Municipality (GAM) said on their Twitter that the Trophy will be displayed at Ras El Ain Gallery in Amman, where people will have the rare opportunity to get up close to the
Trophy that will be presented to the winner of the World Cup tournament in July.

"You cannot believe the excitement that will be built from those visits. If you have ever seen the marvelled look in the eyes of a football fan when being next to the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy, you know what I mean," FIFA President Gianni Infantino said, speaking about the tour which started on September 9 from Moscow and the Trophy is scheduled to visit more than 91 cities across 51 countries.

The Trophy will return to Russia in May, one month before the 2018 FIFA World Cup kicks off, where it will be in a historic route; including a 123-day journey covering more than 26,000 km in 24 different Russian cities, making it the longest trip in the history of the Tour.
