Jordan- FM meets top Syrian opposition official

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb.14 (Petra) -- Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs, Ayman Safadi, on Wednesday met with head of the Syrian Negotiation Commission (HNC), Nasr Hariri, for a discussion on political developments pertaining to the Syrian crisis and efforts to reach a solution to it.

Safadi underlined the need to actively move towards a political solution that meets the Syrian people's aspirations on the basis of the Security Council Resolution 2254 and through the Geneva process as a way to stop the suffering of the Syrian people and preserve Syria's unity, cohesion and sovereignty.

Hariri, on the other hand, briefed the foreign minister on the Syrian opposition's moves and results of its recent engagement with the international community to reach a political solution to the Syrian crisis.
