(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Feb.14 (Petra) -- The government and National Employment and Training Company (NETC), on Wednesday, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), to connect graduates of the Vocational Training Corporation (VTC) and the NETC with the government's financing, credit and advisory programs.

Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury, Labour Ali Ghezawi, Agriculture Khaled Hniefat and NETC Director-General, Brig. Gen, Sudki Rawashdeh signed the agreement.

Fakhoury said the memo would provide sustainable job opportunities for graduates through maximizing the use of the available and free governmental means related to specialized training programs, management of specialized projects, technical advisory and feasibility studies, and providing soft financing windows to enable them establish their own production projects.

The minister added that a package of interventions will be implemented, starting from the initial stages of vocational training programs provided by the VTC and the NETC. In parallel, courses will be developed within the training packages related to project management, project construction and implementation requirements in cooperation with the "Iradah" centers affiliated with the Ministry of Planning in the governorates.

He noted that new vocational training programs will be introduced to meet the market's needs and other programmers related to agricultural and agro-industrial mechanizations, the maintenance of the Hybrids vehicles, the formation of metals and other market requirements, enabling them to benefit from the lending programs of the Agricultural Credit Fund and the Development and Employment Fund.

He added that the planning ministry, through the Program for Enhancing Economic and Social Productivity, will study the development of a new credit window at the Development and Employment Fund.

He pointed out that the government has recently approved the recommendations of the ministerial committee tasked with studying the financing institutions and the public lending funds to maximize the benefit of young people, entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises from financing programs implemented by these funds in each governorate to intensify awareness programs and introduce all the windows of lending.

Minister Ghazawi, who is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the VTC and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Development and Employment Fund, said the government has taken the responsibility to provide job opportunities for job seekers in "unconventional ways" through making them business producers rather than employment seekers.

He added that the government has developed many programs to translate the policy of "job generating enterprises instead of employment".

In this regard, Minister Hanifat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Agricultural Credit Fund, said the ministry is activating its financial mechanisms through the fund, which had a very important role in the past year through raising the lending rate.

He also stressed that the government is seeking the development of agricultural manufacturing and attracting local workers in the agricultural sector.

Brig.Gen. Rawashdeh stressed the importance of promoting the culture of self-employment and supporting employment initiatives through small and medium economic projects that contribute to the provision of decent living and serve a wide range of job seekers graduates.
