Morocco: tourism sector records 10 percent boost


(MENAFN) Morocco's tourism ministry has declared the sector to have recorded a remarkable boost, driving it to top its record of 11-million.

The country has welcomed around 11.4 million visitors, mainly from "emerging markets" including China and Brazil, recording a 10% boost from 2016.

The tourism sector's revenues have gone beyond 69.7 billion dirhams last year, an increase from 64.2 billion dirhams in 2016.

The ministry has confirmed tourists to have mostly been found visiting Marrakesh, Tangiers, Ouarzazate and Fez.
