ICO takes down website over hacking threats
(MENAFN) The Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) has been notified of a hacking attempt, leading it to shut down its site.
Hackers were supposedly taking over computers of visitors in an attempt to extract cryptocurrency.
The hack was confirmed by Security researcher Scott Helme to have caused an impact on over 4,000 websites, with several websites belonging to the government among them.
"We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve it," the ICO stated so as to assure people.
