Iraq to launch oil exploration to Iran this month
(MENAFN) Iraq was declared to be commencing its oil exploration from the northern Kirkuk fields to Iran within this month, at around 60,000 barrels per day (bpd).
The announcement was made by the governor of Kirkuk during a conference over the renovation of Iraq that is taking place in Kuwait.
A deal has been made in December between Iraq and Iran to exchange 60,000 bpd of crude that is supplied from Kirkuk so that Iranian oil can be transported to southern Iraq.
Oil officials have previously postponed the delivery which was set for late January, while Iraqi officials begun a security mission in order to secure the spot from possible dangers.
