Weinstein Company sued in New York
(MENAFN) Prosecutors of New York have filed a lawsuit against the Weinstein Company, claiming that the studio was unable to protect staff from Harvey Weinstein.
As the film producer is going through several allegations of sexual abuse, the lawsuit claims that he abused female employees and made verbal threats to kill staff members.
New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said he had filed the suit against the Weinstein Company, and Mr Weinstein along with his brother Robert, who co-founded the studio.
The lawsuit includes senior executives at the company, including Robert Weinstein, of failing to prevent the mistreatment of staff despite being presented with evidence.
