Algeria to reform subsidy systems for budget recovery


(MENAFN) Algeria was revealed to be seeking reforms of the subsidy system while it aims for the budget deficit to be eliminated over the next three or four years.

The government was declared by Algerian Finance Minister Abdel Rahman Rawi to be looking into the possibility of reducing gasoline subsidies next year, while supporting other commodities in 2020.

The minister explained the subsidy system presently in operation to have maintained low costs for various goods and services.

He also emphasized the objective of the decision to be in purpose of turning the system into a further efficient one that doesn't leave out low-income citizens.
