KUWAIT CITY, Feb 11: The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has completed all the necessary procedures for announcing the names of 3,500 citizens who will be part of 61st employment phase for those seeking jobs in governmental bodies, reports Al-Anba daily quoting a knowledgeable source.

The source went on to say the commission will soon issue a decision on the appointment of new officials and renewal of the tenure of some existing officials. The source revealed the new ministers have asked the commission about the names of nominees to vacant leadership posts and referral of those who failed to complete the legal retirement period. Meanwhile, the Awqaf Secretariat General has announced the plan to increase incentives given to imams and preachers after the Awqaf Projects Committee approves disbursement of incentives and allowances retroactively starting from Jan 1, 2018, reports Al-Anba daily.

The decision includes raising the rent allowance to KD 150 monthly; and if the accommodation is part of the real estate properties of the Secretariat General, the allowance will be KD 250 monthly. Also, the school fee subsidy for the children of imams and preachers will increase from KD 200 to KD 250 per child.

The new decision affirmed adoption of financial aid bylaws after amending the previous report on items one and two, in addition to adoption of the budget for training imams and preachers provided the Legal Committee in the Secretariat approves it. In the meantime, Health Minister Dr Basel Al-Sabah said the health insurance for retirees — 'Afiya' card — will cover 10 more medical services, reports Al-Rai daily.

In a press statement, the minister explained this step is aimed at saving time for retirees and ensuring speedy provision of medical services. He disclosed the 10 additional services are: permanent dental implant, medical glasses, supplementary medical equipment like canes, hearing aids, wheelchairs, wages of visiting doctors, cardiology stents, artificial limbs, and surgeries for cancer, tumors and cataract.
