Qatar- Ministry of Awqaf to train over 1,700 employees

DOHA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has increased training opportunities multifold for its employees for the current year to help them to be ready for leading positions and get promotions by improving their performances.

A total of 1,705 employees will be trained under the training programme-2018, announced by the Ministry.

'The number of beneficiary trainees increased about two and a-half fold to 1,705 employees this year from 707 employees last year, said Mohammed Hassan Al Maliki, Director of Human Resources Department at a press conference held here on Thursday.

He said that a total of 58 training programme are designed for this year including specialised programme for male and female employees at 10 and seven programme, respectively. 'A total of 17 programme are designed for preparing leadership and 18 for training experts and there are six general training programme, said Al Maliki. He said that the training programme is prepared in line with the vision, mission and strategy of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs as per the Qatar National Vision 2030.

As per the training schedule, first specialised course for 25 female employees will start on February 18.

'The plan aims to develop the Ministry's cadres, both at the professional level and the level of preparation of the second grade of leaders in each department, said Al Maliki.

He said that the programme also meant preparing experts in the various specialisations, including the field of Dawa and guidance, endowment, Zakat fund and other various administration and management. 'Awqaf has been developing plans following the State's directives regarding the development of human resources, said Al Maliki.

He pointed out that the role of the ministry is serving Muslims around the world, which requires training and development to carry out these great tasks and benefit from various experiences internally and externally.

Dr Mohammed Khalifa Al Kubaisi, Head of Training and Management Development said that the new training plan is designed to cover the Ministry's vision, mission, strategic plan and areas of work in raising awareness, promoting Islamic values, serving the community through its endowment, Zakat Fund and Cultural programme.

'The training plan also includes the Summer Training Programme for Qataris from high school and university students, which is scheduled to accommodate 80 students this year, said Al Kubaisi.

He said that in addition to the training programme, the plan includes six general programme and forums for the exchange of ideas and experiences, including the HR forum, the forum of management practices. 'Specialised programme for the qualification of scholars, and the preparation of competent trainers in this course will be also held, said Al Kubaisi.
