(MENAFN) The Syrian short narrative film "On the Roof of Damascus" was awarded as the Best Arab Film Award at Int'l Forum of Cinema against Terrorism in Erbil, Iraq.
The film was written by scenarist Samer Mohammad Ismail, produced by the General Establishment for Cinema and directed by al-Mohannad Kalthoum.
The film talks about people who live a virtual life as they can't achieve their dreams in the real life which evolved to the worse since the beginning of the war on Syria, yet they decide to keep living in the country despite all types of destruction and death around them.
Director Kaltkoum expressed happiness over several consecutive successes which indicate the development of film-making industry in Syria despite war and terrorism, according to SANA.
46 Arab and foreign films participated in the three-day festival in its third edition.
