Egypt bombs tunnel in Gaza

(MENAFN) A tunnel under the Gaza border was destroyed by the Egyptian army on Friday, Middle East Monitor (MEM) reported.

According to MEM, explosive devices found in three warehouses and a tunnel used by "terrorists" were ruined.

While the tunnels are a "lifeline" to Gaza residents under blockade, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi tries to destroy them on the alleged reason of usage by ISIS and other terrorists who target police and army in Sinai, and since 2015, Egypt has been pumping water under the border to stop Palestinians in the Gaza Strip from smuggling goods.

The Egyptian army had destroyed 12 "hideouts used by terrorists" in central Sinai, which has been exposed to several attacks by ISIS in the past year who targeted civilians, on Friday, according to Egypt Independent.
