Iranian northern customs sees huge surge in revenue

The value of non-oil exports of Iran through the provincial customs checkpoints of Mazandaran has surpassed $329 million over the first 10 months of the current fiscal year.

The head of the customs organization of the northern province of Mazandaran, Abolqasem Yousefinejad has said that goods worth $329.317 million were exported through the province's checkpoints in the mentioned period, Iran's state-run IRINN TV reported.

Dairy products, industrial products, foodstuff, cement and wood products formed the majority of the exports in the 10-month period.

Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan and Iraq as well as Afghanistan were among the main destinations of the Iranian products.

Some 96,044 tons of various goods, including steel products, kerosene and paper were among the exported goods, Yousefinejad added.

The income of the provincial customs organization in the mentioned period stood at 1.4 trillion rials (about $40 million according to the official rate on Wednesday), indicating a rise by 25 percent year-on-year.
