Qatar to launch expansion project for Al Udeid US airbase
(MENAFN) Qatar is to launch an expansion project for the American airbase that has at the moment 10,000 US military soldiers.
The planned project was announced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs H E Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah.
He explained the project at the Al Udeid base to provide further 200 housing units for military personnel along with their families.
The minister further declared "it will very soon become a family-oriented place for our American friends there. We want more of the families to be stable and feel more comfortable in their stay."
