Russia releases opposition leader Navalny without charges
(MENAFN) After his detainment amid anti-government rallies, Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny was confirmed to have been freed without charges.
The leader had made a short appearance in Moscow at a protest against President Putin before he was apprehended, as he urged his supporters to boycott the presidential election set for March.
His attorney Olga Mikhailova confirmed that even though he was released without charges, he is required to stand before court later on.
The awaited trial might send the opposition leader to serve up to thirty days prison sentence in charge he was charged with breaching laws for organizing protests.
