Oman restricts visas for 87 jobs


(MENAFN) Issuing visas to hire expat workers has been halted in 87 job roles. The six-month hiring restriction was recently imposed by the country's Ministry of Manpower.

The ban came into effect after the issuance of ministerial decree 2018/38, which was made by the minister of manpower Abdullah bin Nasser Al Bakri on Sunday morning, according to Times of Oman.

The jobs affected by the suspension included information and technology field, accounting and finance field marketing and sales, technical professions and information/media professions.

Also, the suspension included administration and human resources jobs, medical professions, airport professions, engineering professions and insurance.
