Draft decision on Qatar Quality Mark receives Cabinet approval


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Cabinet has approved a draft decision of HE the Minister of Municipality and Environment on issuing regulations to grant the Qatar Quality Mark.
The quality mark is a badge adopted by the Ministry of Municipality and Environment to indicate the conformity of a product with the approved standard specifications.
The draft decision was prepared to replace regulations for granting the Qatar Quality Mark issued by HE the Minister of Environment's Decision No 191 of 2013, the official Qatar News Agency (QNA).
The regulations contain provisions concerning the conditions for granting a licence to use the Qatar Quality Mark, procedures for obtaining the licence, procedures of the Quality and Conformity Department at the Qatar General Organisation for Standardisation, duration of the licence and the obligations of the establishment licensed to use the Quality Mark, QNA said.
The establishment may use the Qatar Quality Mark to advertise the licensed item during the validity period of the licence.
After HE the Prime Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani chaired the Cabinet meeting at the Emiri Diwan yesterday, HE the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Hassan Lahdan Saqr al-Mohannadi said the Cabinet approved the second periodic report of Qatar on the implementation of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women.
The report was prepared by the committee concerned at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for submission to the secretariat of the Committee of the Elimination of Discrimination against Women concerned with monitoring implementation of the convention.
The meeting also approved draft decisions of HE the Minister of Justice, which were prepared by the Ministry of Justice to implement the provisions of Law No 12 of 2016 concerning the official gazette.
These are as follows: a draft decision determining electronic publication controls for the official gazette; a draft decision specifying the controls, procedures and value of the annual subscription in the official gazette, the publishing fees, the mechanism of sending copies to the subscribers and the prices of their sale to non-subscribers; and a draft decision specifying the method of saving the original copies of editions of the official gazette, QNA added.
Further, the Cabinet gave its nod to the validity of provisions of Law No 24 of 2002 regarding retirement and pensions for Qatari employees in some institutions.
