Jordan- Cabinet approves establishment of first educational waqf

(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 17 (Petra)--The Cabinet approved the establishment of the first educational waqf (endowment), upon a recommendation by the ministers of education, awqaf and finance, with the aim of urging the local community and civil society institutions to support the educational process.

The new waqf, which will help the Education Ministry to secure school buildings and carry out maintenance work, will be establish on a 10-dunum area with a total cost of JD1 million that will be covered by the Awqaf Ministry's programs.
