Jordan- Parliamentary committee meets Iraqi ambassador


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 17 (Petra)--Head of the Lower House Foreign Affairs Committee MP Raed Khazaleh highlighted the importance of boosting Jordanian-Iraqi ties, mainly in the parliamentary field.

During a meeting with the Iraqi Ambassador to Jordan Safiya Al-Suhail, Khazaleh praised victories that have been achieved by the Iraqi army against terror organizations, adding they will contribute to achieving development in the political, economic and social fields.

He said the Lower House values the positive step taken by Iraq to hold free parliamentary elections.

The ambassador spoke about steps that could be taken to boost trade between the two countries including the establishment of a joint industrial estate, and accelerating the construction of an oil pipeline between the Iraqi city of Basra and Aqaba.
