MES Indian School celebrates Tamil Day

Tamil Day was observed with fervour and gaiety at the campus of MES Indian School on January 14. Students from Junior, Girls' and Boys' Sections of the school participated in various contests including recitation and elocution competitions.

Students attired in conventional costumes presented vibrant folk dances and drama on the occasion, which were the highlight of the event.

Fervent speeches were made by the students in honour of Tamil literary personalities and their valuable contributions.

Besides extolling the beauty of Tamil language, the school principal officiating, Hameeda Kadar complimented, ‘this is one of the annual occasions of the Tamil community, celebrated with a view to inculcating values and familiarising the children with the rich culture and traditions of Tamil State'.

Teachers of the Department of Tamil coordinated the day's programme in a colourful manner.
