Jordan- Cold weather with showers forecast until Wednesday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 15 (Petra) -- The Kingdom on Monday remains under the impact of the cold and wet air mass. Therefore, cold and partly cloudy to cloudy conditions will prevail with scattered showers at times in the northern and central parts of the country.

According to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD), the weather will gradually stabilize in the evening with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds. Fogy conditions with frost formation are also forecast in the desert areas.

Relatively cold and partly cloudy weather will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday with low clouds and a chance for showers in the northern regions extending to the central and eastern parts of the Kingdom. Foggy conditions are forecast in the early morning hours extending at night over the hilly areas and the Badia regions, the JMD said.

Temperatures in Amman, the northern and southern areas for today will hover around of 14 degrees Celsius and a low of 6 in the capital and 5 in the other two areas. Mercury levels in Aqaba will register a high of 24 degrees dropping down to 12 degrees at night, the JMD added.
