Doha: Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Thani said in a video posted online that he is currently detained in UAE and not allowed to go out of the country.

He also mentioned in the video that if something happens to him in UAE, Qatar or its people are not in any way responsible for the same and his hosts in UAE solely bear all the responsibility.

He is in Abu Dhabi on an invitation from Mohammed bin Zayed.

He appeared in a video talking about his current situation in Abu Dhabi, capital of UAE.

Below is a loose translation of the message in his video, which was posted in Arabic.

'Hello, I am now in Abu Dhabi in the hospitality of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed. Now I am detained here and they said not to go out of the country. I am afraid that if anything happens to me, they would accuse Qatar for the same.

I want to inform you that if anything happens to me, the people of Qatar are innocent.

I am hosted by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed and for everything that is happening to me he bears full responsibility.

I salute the people of Qatar, the people of the UAE, the people of Saudi Arabia and all the Gulf Cooperation Council, and thank you very much.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Ali Al Thani is a Qatari businessman who was controversially courted by Saudi Arabia to create false propaganda against Doha, which fell through when people saw through the fake agenda. Later he was invited to UAE and is now detained there according to his own video message.
