Kuwait provides cards, priority services to senior citizens


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- The State of Kuwait provides different types of cards and priority services and facilities to old citizens in a bid to answer all their needs.

A Kuwaiti senior citizen who is up to 65 years old is entitled to get necessary social care and services as per Law 18/2016, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs for Social Care Fatema Al-Mulla said Saturday.

The ministry offers two types of cards to old people; one is called "priority card" and gives its holders preference when seeking services at different state agencies and departments, she said in a press statement.

The other card, called the have-nots' card, relieves senior citizens of charges for various services like transport, car registration and customs for the elderly's devices and equipment, Al-Mulla added.

As many as 717 cards have been issued so far for old citizens nationwide, the official boasted. (end) mth.amh.mt
