Kuwaiti parliament nominated for two PUIC cmtes


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) TEHRAN, Jan 13 (KUNA) -- The Arab group at the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) conference has nominated the Kuwaiti caucus for membership of the Standing Specialized Committees on Political and Foreign Relations, and on Human Rights, Women and Family Affairs, for 2018.

The decision was made during a consultation meeting of the group on the sidelines of the 13th Session of the PUIC Conference in Tehran on Saturday.

The meeting was presided over by Deputy Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Abdulwahed Al-Ansari, and attended by head of the Kuwaiti delegation to the session Secretary of the Kuwaiti Parliamentary Caucus MP Dr. Ouda Al-Ruwai'e, and National Assembly Secretary General Allam Al-Kandari.

Heads of the Arab delegations, and Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union (APU) Secretary General Fayez Al-Shawaika also took part.

Participants agreed to nominate Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Lebanon and Sudan for the PUIC's Executive Committee for 2018.

Kuwait, Iraq, Morocco and Mauritania were picked out for membership of the Standing Specialized Committees on Political and Foreign Relations, and on Human Rights for 2018.

Qatar, Syria, Comoros and Morocco will be nominated for the Standing Specialized Committees on Economic and Environment.

Kuwait, Palestine, Sudan and Mauritania were selected for the Standing Specialized Committee Human Rights, Women and Family, as Oman, Jordan, Algeria and Comoros for the Cultural Affairs, Legal and Dialogue of Civilizations and Religions, for 2018.

The Kuwaiti delegation, which also includes MP Dr. Khalil Abdullah, arrived in Tehran earlier today for the PUIC 13th Session. (pickup previous) fz.msa
