Qatar shivers as temperatures fall

Doha: The country woke up to feel the chill as the temperatures all over drop to below 15 degrees with the lowest recorded at 3.7 degree.

Qatar Meteorology Department said that Abu Samra recorded 3.7 degrees at 6:10 am which is the lowest this season. Last year, Abu Samra recorded the lowest temperature in Qatar history at 1.5 degree celsius in February 2017.

At 5:36 am today, Al Khor, Messeid and Al Wakrah recorded below 10 degree celsius at 8 degree, 5.9 degree and 9.8 degree respectively. Temperature in Doha was 13.8 degree celsius, while Dukhan and Al Ruwais it was around 14.6.

The weather department in its daily report has said that the weather inshore until 6 pm on Saturday will be hazy to misty at first at places, becoming moderate temperature and cold at night.

Wind inshore will be southwesterly to northeasterly at a speed of 03 to 12 knot. Offshore, it will be northwesterly at a speed of 08 to 18 knot, reaching 20 knot at places at times.

Visibility will be 04 to 08 kilometer or less at places at first.
