Israeli forces injure 40 Palestinians in West Bank
(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Jan 12 (JUNA) - About 40 Palestinians wrere injured in clashes with the Israeli forces in the West Bank on Friday, the Palestine Red Crescent Society said.
Up to 22 people suffocated in Ramallah, as seven others were hit by rubber bullets in the nearby village of Al-Moghir, the Society added in a press release.
A Palestinian was shot with a rubber bullet in Beita town, while three others suffocated due to Israelis' use of tear gas.
In addition, six young Palestinians were wounded in clashes in the village of Allaban, southern Nablus, as a journalist was injured by a sound bomb in Al-Khali, or Hebron.
The release noted that many other cases received treatment on site.
In the meantime, witnesses told KUNA that the Israeli occupation forces detained three young Palestinians at the northern entrance of Bethlehem, and two others in Beita which the Israelis declared a closed military zones.
Clashes have been running for the sixth week in a row since the US decision on December 6 recognizing Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
Today the clashes extended to a host of new Palestinian villages and towns. (end) nq.maa.msa
