Growth of Morocco's Economy to Decrease by 2.8% in 2018
(MENAFN- Morocco World News) Rabat - The High Commissioner for Planning (HCP) predicts a 2.8 percent slowdown in Morocco's economic growth, against four percent last year. HCP Director, Ahmed Lahlimi Alami said that the value added of Agriculture will decline by 1.3 percent in 2018 against a rise of 13.6 percent in 2017. The growth rate of non-activities is expected to experience a "slight recovery" from 2.8 percent in 2017 to 2.9 percent in 2018. General prices of products are anticipated to record an increase from 0.2 percent in 2017 to 1.5 percent in 2018. The HCP also expects the trade deficit to remain high, rising from 17.8 percent of GDP in 2017 to 18.2 percent in 2018. In terms of the national savings rate, Lahlimi noted that it will decline from 28.9 percent of GDP in 2017 to 28.4 percent in 2018.
