(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Jan. 10 (Petra) -- Minister of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs Ayman Safadi and Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi discussed Wednesday efforts to contain the consequences of the United States' decision to recognize Jerusalem as capital of Israel.

Safadi briefed the Indonesian foreign minister on the outcome of an Arab foreign ministers meeting held in Amman on Saturday to discuss ways to counter the U.S. decision.

Safadi and Marsudi underlined the importance of forging a coordinated effort to secure an international recognition of a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on pre-June 1967 lines. They also emphasized the need to launch a concerted and effective international effort to end the Israeli occupation and fulfill the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

The two ministers agreed to continue coordination and consultation at the bilateral level and within the framework of Arab and Islamic cooperation.
