Saudi Arabia boost citizens benefits after economic reforms


(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia had developed its citizens' stipend and benefits to reduce the effect of economic reforms, such as the first taxes following an oil price collapse.

A beneficial welfare system has long provided gain for nearly all working Saudis the state employed.

Saudi Arabia and the UAE had declared a 5% VAT on nearly all goods and services, implemented at the start of 2018 following the oil market crash in 2014.

King Salman has ordered $267, 222 euros monthly living allowance for military citizens and public servants for one year in an attempt to "soften the impact of economic reforms on Saudi households."
