Qatar local farm awaits 30 percent increase in yield
(MENAFN) A leading local farm anticipates an increase of vegetable production of 30% in 2018, compared to the past season, due to the support the state granted to agricultural sector aiming to fulfill self-sufficiency in agriculture.
The local farm 'Global Farm for Agricultural Supplies' owner Ali Ahmad Al Kaabi confirmed "we produced 800 tonnes of vegetables last year and expect 30 percent more produce this year."
The Director of Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry Yousef Al Khulaifi stated "we have intensified efforts to support farmers in many ways including provision of financial support and platforms to market their produce."
