Former Prosecutors Tackle Cases as New York Defense Attorneys

(MENAFNEditorial) Former prosecutors Jeffery Greco and Dustan Neyland now fight for the accused's rights as defense attorneys. That includes representing clients against federal charges, including former New York City police officer Merlin Alston charged with distributing drugs in the Bronx.

Greco Neyland, P.C. focuses exclusively on criminal defense in Manhattan and throughout New York City's five boroughs. Greco and Neyland handle cases at all levels including misdemeanor and felony charges as well as federal cases.

Both former assistant district attorneys, they now use their background to craft strong defense strategies for the accused. Their investigative skills help them find reasonable doubt as they search for any missteps by law enforcement and file and litigate all viable motions in an attempt to get charges reduced or dismissed before trial.

Their clients have included Alston, who faced federal narcotics conspiracy charges for his alleged role in protecting and helping a drug dealer. While unsuccessful, Greco argued against bringing up Alston's alleged drug use during the case before an U.S. district judge.

Greco also defended corporate IT executive Sanjay Tripathy against sexual assault charges filed against him in 2016. The alleged assault happened during a sort of 'Fifty Shades of Grey hookup in which Greco argued the prostitute's injuries were part of the 'bondage and sadomasochism style of sex.

Greco and Neyland approach difficult cases such as these empowered by their knowledge of tactics used by the prosecution. That knowledge is backed up by training in their areas of expertise. Greco, a former narcotics prosecutor, is certified by the National Highway Safety Administration to conduct standardized field sobriety tests and has had extensive training on how police investigate DWIs. He uses this knowledge to spot errors made by police.

Neyland's training includes completing a forensic chromatography course at the American Chemical Society. This training gives him insight into how crime labs work needed to challenge prosecutors who use invalid science in trials.
