Jordan- Expatriate remittances increase till end of Nov. 2017


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec. 31 (Petra)- Overall remittances of Jordanian expatriates stood at $3.4 billion till the end of November, 2017, similar to the transfers level of the same period last year, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) announced Sunday.

According to CBJ figures, 70 percent of the total transferred funds are from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and the remaining rate comes from the United States and Europe.

Remittances of Jordanians abroad are considered among the CBJ's most important sources of foreign currency, along with revenues of national exports, foreign loans and grants.
