Pakistan- Gen Khalid Shamim Wynne passes away in road accident
The mishap happened near Chakri Interchange where Gen Wynne's car toppled over after one of its tyres blew out.
According to Motorway police the driver had been speeding and seemed to have lost control over the steering.
Media reports said that Gen Wynne's son and a close friend, who were accompanying him, and the driver were reported to be in critical condition.
They were shifted to the Combined Military Hospital in Rawalpindi, but the general's friend was later reported to have succumbed to his injuries as well.
