Palestinian beneficiaries of Kuwait's donation called to receive aid

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) GAZA, Dec 28 (KUNA) -- The Palestinian government has urged beneficiaries of a Kuwaiti donation for the reconstruction in Gaza to receive the financial payments, about USD six million.

Upon directives from Prime Minister Rami Al-Hamdallah, procedures have been speeded up for Palestinians whose houses were totally destroyed during the last Israeli war on Gaza, as well as owners of industrial facilities, to receive the aid, said Palestinian Minister of Public Works and Housing Mufeed Hasayneh Thursday.

The third and last part of the Kuwaiti donation includes USD 3.95 million for 560 houses, and USD 2.173 million for industrial facilities.

Hasayneh, on behalf of the Palestinian leadership and people, thanked His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED) and the Kuwaiti people for their non-stop support to the Palestinian people.

In October 2014, Kuwait pledged USD 200 million as part the USD 5.4 billion donation made at Cairo's donors conference for the Gaza Strip. (end) wab.msa
