S.Korean dried laver exports hit record high


(MENAFN) South Korean dried laver exports have hit a record high of 500m USD this year, reflecting the growing popularity of the seafood.

According to the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, the country's companies have shipped 20,000 tons of dried laver products abroad.

A total of 113m USD worth of the product were shipped to Japan, followed by China with 87m USD, then the US with 84m USD, Russia with 16m USD, and Germany with 7m USD.

According to the government, it will invest 88.5m USD to create an industrial complex for the production and processing of the dried laver on the southwest coast, and it will increase efforts to develop a more diverse range of products and flavors to meet the demand from overseas customers.
