Iran gas blast casualties rises to 16
(MENAFN- The Peninsula) Tehran: The number of people who were injured in gas explosion accident in Dezful, Iran's southern province of Khuzestan, has mounted to 16, Iran's News Agency (IRNA) reported Monday.
"Two of the injured who were transferred to Ahvaz hospital due to 100% and 80% burn injuries are in bad conditions," Head of Management and Medical emergencies Center of Khuzestan Shahyar Mirkheshti said Sunday night.
"One of the injured was treated on site and 13 others were transferred to a Dezful hospital," he added.
The explosion of the liquid gas tank in Dezful cased massive fire in the area. The blast was heard in neighbouring Andimeshk, Shush and Gotvand cities.
Technical problems and carelessness were reported as causes of the incident.
