Ministerial reshuffle, new governors announced in Yemen

ADEN, 24th December, 2017 (WAM) -- The Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi has issued Republican Resolutions appointing new ministers to the Yemeni government, headed by Prime Minister Ahmed Obeid bin Daghr.

According to the official Yemeni News Agency, Major General Hussain Mohamed Arab, former Minister of Interior, has been promoted to Lt General and named Presidential Advisor for Security Affairs. Former Oil Minister Saif Muhsin Al Sherif has been appointed as Foreign Ministry Ambassador under the new resolutions which also included appointment of new governors for Taez, Al Dhale'e and Lahej.

Hadi Ahmed bin Ahmed Al Maysari has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior; Othman Hussein Fayed as Minister of Agriculture; Aws Abdullah Ahmed Al Oud as Minister of Oil and Minerals; and Saleh Ahmed Mohamed Al Jabwani as Minister of Transport.

The new governors include Staff Major General Ali Moqbel Saleh as Governor for Al Dhale'e; Amin Ahmed Mahmoud for Taez; and Ahmed Abdullah Al Turki for Lahej.
