Qatar- Healthcare practitioners to access CPD resources for free

The Accreditation Department at Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners has collaborated with BMJ Learning, a leading international provider of online CPD modules to provide free access to licensed healthcare practitioners. It is to be noted that these educational modules fall under Category 2 Self Directed Learning Activities of the National CPD Framework.

This comes after a successful collaboration (2015 - 2016) between QCHP, the Ministry of Public Health and BMJ that has helped provide thousands of healthcare practitioners free access to BMJ Learning educational modules. After the UK, Qatar has logged the highest number of BMJ Learning module completions of any country during the agreement.

During that period,more than 11,000 healthcare professionals in Qatar have registered and have completed hundreds of thousands of CPD modules across 70 specialty areas in BMJ Learning, with CPD credits recognized by QCHP. Modules are available in a variety of formats including video, podcast and 3D animations, all peer-reviewed and continuously updated to reflect the very latest guidance.

A survey in Qatar showed that many were content with the availability of a variety of free educational modules. The majority have said that this has helped them update their knowledge and improve patient care in addition to helping them meet their CPD requirements. A large percentage expressed their wish to have continued access to such an educational resource.
