(MENAFN) The series of gunshot attacks hunting officers in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania had been branded as a terror attack while chain migration was condemned Saturday by a spokesman for Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
DHS has established that the suspect identified as Ahmed Amin El-Mofty aged 51 received benefit through extensive family chain migration, according to Tyler Houlton's tweet.
The acting press secretary stated "Ahmed Amin El-Mofty was a naturalized U.S. citizen who was admitted to the United States from Egypt on a family-based immigrant visa. El-Mofty was killed yesterday in a shootout after allegedly opening fire and targeting police at multiple locations in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania."
He continued "the long chain of migration that led to the suspect's admission into the United States was initiated years ago by a distant relative of the suspect."
