(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec. 24 (Petra)--Acting Senate President Marouf Bakhit praised efforts exerted by His Majesty King Abdullah II at all levels to highlight repercussions of the US decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital.
During a session on Sunday, Bakhit voiced the Senate's full support to the King's efforts that had a positive impact on the UN decision to reject the US decision, and maintain the status quo in the occupied city until a just and comprehensive solution is reached for the Palestinian issue.
He said the Hashemite custodianship of the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem is the only guarantor to preserve the city and prevent its Judaization.
