Jordan- Exports of ACC decline by 6 percent during last 11 months


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec.24 (Petra) -- The Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC) Sunday announced that exports declined by 6.37 percent during the first 11 months of this year compared with the same period of last year.

ACC figures showed that exports during the first 11 months stood at JD3.859 billion compared to JD4.121 billion in the same period of last year.

Exports to India topped the list standing at JD517 million, followed byJD506 million to Iraq, JD498 million to Saudi Arabia, and JD457 million to the United States of America.

Despite the drop in ACC exports, the value of goods reached Palestine via the chamber rose by 23.44 percent totaling JD147 million during the same period of comparison .

Also a sharp rise in the value of goods exported via the ACC to Syria registered 160 percent increase, reaching JD83 million compared to JD32 in the first 11 months in 2017 compared with the same period of 2016.

In sector distribution of exports of mineral industries came first with JD877 million, second with chemical industries and cosmetics with JD646 million followed by therapeutic and medical supplies with JD573 million, the ACC figures said.
