Jordan- Parliament open to all brothers:Tarawneh


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec. 20. (Petra)- Parliament Speaker, Atef Tarwaneh, said the House is open to all Arab brothers and Jordan has longstanding ties at the pan-Arab level, based on mutual respect.

Tarawneh's remarks came during talks with the Lebanese Ambassador here, Tracy Chamoun, and added the Kingdom's parliament has robust cooperation relations with Arab counterparts, aimed to coordinate stances on vital issues, like Jerusalem.

Discussions touched on the latest Mideast developments and their diverse repercussions on the adjacent countries and ways to foster bilateral ties.

The Lebanese expats in Latin America and Africa are urged to highlight the region's issues, with eye on the fairness of the Palestinian cause, he underlined.

The envoy, on her part, said Beirut is keen to bolster bilateral cooperation in the various domains.

Chamoun also lauded the key role of the Hashemite custodianship over the holy sites in Jerusalem and the Kingdom's efforts to handle the Syrian refugee crisis as well.
