Eight dead in house blaze in Oman


(MENAFN) A fire caught a house in southern Batinah province's region of Barka has left eight people dead including a mother and her five daughters, according to Times of Oman.

The mother, her sister, her five daughters (aged 7-15), as well as an African housemaid were all caught up in the blaze and suffocated to death of smoke inhalation.

The Public Authority for Civil Defense and Ambulance commented on the subject matter, "At 4.35am the firefighters started dealing with the blaze which broke out in a house in Al Salam neighborhood. The accident left eight people dead and one injured".
