Qatar- Hijric month Rabia Thani's crescent to appear today

According to astronomical calculations by Qatar Calendar House (QCH), the New Crescent of Hijric month ' Rabia Thani 1439H will appear today December 18, at 9.31 am Doha local time (6.31am Universal Time).

We can note that the new crescent of Hijric month ' Rabia Thani will bear after sunset time over Qatar sky and all Arabic area countries sky on Sunday Rabia Awal 29 (Dec 17), astronomer expert at QCH Dr Beshir Marzouk said.

The time set of the moon over Doha sky on Sunday will be at 4.21pm, while the sunset time will be at 4.47pm Doha local time, i.e the moon will be set before sun by 26 minutes, while the time set of the moon will be before sunset time over the sky of two holy mosques (Makkah & Medinah) and over all Gulf countries by (24 - 27 minutes).

The new crescent will be impossible to view with astronomical telescopes or naked eye over Qatar sky and all Arabic countries sky on this night (Sunday Dec 17); because it will bear after sunset time over Doha sky and all Arabic and Islamic countries' sky, Dr Marzouk added.

Consequently and according to astronomical calculations, the Hijric month 'Rabia Awal 1439 H end on Monday, while the first day of ' Rabia Thani 1439 H will be on Tuesday December 19.
