Emir, Palestine president discuss Jerusalem

(MENAFN- Gulf Times) His Highness the Emir sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and the President of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas discussed the latest developments of the Palestinian issue, particularly those related to the city of Jerusalem.
The discussions were during a meeting between the Emir and the Palestinian President on Sunday at the Emiri Diwan. Abbas briefedHis Highness the Emir on the measures the State of Palestine is seeking to take in international forums to counter the US administration's decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and ways to protect Al Aqsa Mosque from Israeli attacks.
His Highness the Emir stressed the support of Qatari leadership and people for the Palestinian leadership and people in the efforts to protect Islamic and Christian holy sites.
On his part, the President of Palestine expressed his thanks to His Highness the Emir for the State of Qatar's firm and continuous backing of the Palestinian people and its support for its just cause.
