Jordan- Inflation up by 3.3pct in 11 months


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Amman, Dec.13 (Petra) -- Inflation, measured through consumer prices, rose by 3.3 per cent in the first eleven months of 2017 compared to 0.9 per cent recorded in the same period of 2016.

According to official statistics, an increase in transportation fares by 13 per cent, costs of property rents by 2.5 per cent, tobacco and cigarettes by 8 per cent, vegetables, dried and canned legumes by 5.2 per cent and health fees by 8.7 per cent, was the main cause for the computed rise.

Main items that saw a drop were meat and poultry by 5.5 per cent, fruits and nuts by 3.2 per cent, cloths by 2.9 per cent and cereals and their products by 0.2 per cent.
