Oman- Nama Ambassadors Programme reaches final evaluation stage


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Muscat- The final evaluation of the teams qualified to the last phase of Nama Ambassadors Programme 2017 will take place at Safeer Continental Hotel, Al Khuwayr in Bausher today.

At this stage, the programme's winning teams are to be selected and will be announced at the closing ceremony of the project, organised by the group on December 14 at the Ministry of Education Auditorium in Bausher. Winners of the competition will be recognised with honorary awards along with participating parties in the ceremony.

Twenty student projects were eligible for the final phase of the programme. These projects will be evaluated by a committee with expertise in sustainable project management and implementation to nominate the best three projects from the school category plus the best three projects from colleges, universities and vocational training centres category. The committee includes Eng Zahir al Bahri, CEO of Al Ghubrah Power and Desalination Company; Yusra al Lawati, Public Relations and Media manager at Environment Society of Oman, Al Mutasim al Sariri, director of Corporate Affairs at Oman Oil Company; and Mustafa Barami, an Omani innovator and inventor.

Also, Nama Ambassadors Exhibition will be organised from December 12 to 13 as a platform to showcase the 20 qualified projects at Muscat Grand Mall, Al Khuwayr. At the end of the programme, the closing ceremony will be held under the patronage of H E Dr Madeeha bint Ahmed bin Nassir al-Shaibaniyah, Minister of Education, with the attendance of Hassan bin Mohamed Al Lawati, chairman of Nama Group, and Eng Omar bin Khalfan al Wahaibi, chief executive officer of the group, as well as representatives from Nama Group and concerned parties.

Nama Ambassadors Programme, held for the second consecutive year, is a remarkable sustainability initiative conducted by Nama Group. The project targets students from schools, universities and colleges plus vocational training centres to train them with sustainable development approaches and motivate them to create projects that serve the community. The programme aims to encourage students to work collectively and manage sustainable projects, and through their active roles as Ambassadors of Nama, they will introduce their skills to their peers in service of the present and future of Oman.
