Oman- ISG students excel in World Scholars Cup held at Yale University, US
The theme was 'An Unlikely World'. The students were tested for their writing, debating and quizzing skills in the four team events known as Collaborative Writing, Scholar's Bowl, Scholar's Challenge and Team Debate.
This annual mega event is conducted in three rounds. The Regional Round was held at British School Muscat in which many schools from the region participated enthusiastically. Twelve students from ISG qualified for the Global Round which was held in Athens, Greece in which about 1,500 students participated. After a keenly contested round, eight students of ISG, Alisha Amjad, Aparna Krishnan Reshmy, Faiza Reza, Khadija Akbar, Kshama Mumbai, Nikitha Manoj Thomas, Nitu Andrews Machilath and Roshna Sharon Manogaran, qualified for and participated in the Final Round. After much preparation involving hardwork and perseverance, the students of ISG came home with a rich harvest of medals. They won eight gold medals, fourteen silver medals for their knowledge, writing and debating skills.It was an experience of a lifetime as they got an opportunity to meet and mingle with students from all over the world. There was a Cultural Fair and a Scholar's Ball which helped students learn more about the cultures and traditions of other countries. The management of the school and the staff are very proud of the unique achievement of the students.
